Kimberly Jean Dixon Godfrey, 64, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025. Born on August 24, 1960, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Kim brought warmth, laughter, and compassion into every life she touched.
A graduate of South Plantation High School, Class of 1978, Kim went on to earn her Registered Nursing (RN) degree in 1983. Her passion for caregiving and dedication to her patients led her to further her education, later earning her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Her lifelong commitment to nursing wasn’t just a career— it was her true calling. Kim was known for her unwavering care, empathy, and professionalism in every role she held.
Kim was also a devoted Nana who adored her grandchildren and took great pride in being part of their lives.
She is survived by her loving parents, Jake and Voncille Dixon of Blackshear, Georgia; her two sisters, Tina Dixon Shears of Blackshear, Georgia and Terry Dixon Ross of Alpharetta, Georgia; and her three children: Michael Godfrey and his wife Carrie of Orange Park, FL; Daniel Godfrey of Orange Park, FL; and Diana Sanjines and her husband Marcelo of St. Augustine, Florida. She is also survived by four beloved grandchildren: Abbie and Caleb Godfrey, and Tobias and Felix Sanjines.
Kim was preceded in death by her infant sister, Patricia Gail Dixon, who passed away on January 8, 1967.
To honor Kim’s life, on Friday, June 27, 2025, a viewing will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073, (904) 264-1233. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend.
