Lanny Clarence Singleton, 66, of Fleming Island, Florida, and previously Holland, Ohio, passed away on July 2, 2021 unexpectedly while visiting family in Ohio.
Lanny impacted so many through his work with Midas, where he worked for 47 years, starting as a technician and eventually being the franchise owner of the Jacksonville market, owning six locations. He built lifelong relationships with his co-workers and their families, and some of his greatest memories were work-family trips he took with Midas.
Lanny had a great love for the game of golf and the friends that he played with. You could catch him playing every Sunday, rain or shine, good or bad. He built so many memories there and it brought him so much joy.
Lanny was preceded in death by his father, his stepfather, his brother-in-law, Joe LeFevre, and his best friend, Jim Coffman.
Lanny is survived by his three children, Lanny Chad Singleton, Michael Singleton, and Lisa (Joseph) Fleming; his four grandchildren, Caleb, Hudson, Kennedy, and London; his mother, Wayne Ada Knapp; his five sisters, Linda (Bob) Gusky, Madeline Doren, Shelia (Melvin) Rayoum, Kim (Dennis) Demole, and Lori Tilton, as well as many other family members, friends and co-workers.
Lanny will be affectionately remembered by his family and friends as a loving father, grandfather, son, and brother. He was a family man until the end, spending his last moments with his family.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073.
