On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, Leonard Hawk was called home to heaven at the age of 89. Leonard Hawk was born in Chicago, IL on August 5, 1931 during the great depression.
He enjoyed going to Chicago Cubs games and watching them on TV. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War and served his country proudly for two years. After returning from the war, he worked as a machinist and enjoyed going to dances. He met the love of his life, Emily, at one of those dances. The two of them enjoyed 57 wonderful years of marriage. He retired to Lake in the Hills, IL and regularly volunteered at the Lutheran church and local retirement home. In his later years, he moved to Jacksonville, FL to escape the cold weather and enjoyed traveling around the sunshine state. We will all miss his great story telling about his childhood and his time in the Army and will never forget his desire to always ensure everyone was having a good time.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Emily; daughters, Julia Cohn and Dyane (Ion) Revak; grandchildren, David Cohn, Danielle Cohn, Maegan Revak, and Krista LeRoy and six great grandchildren.
