Lisena Sylliac

Lisena (Myrtil) Sylliac passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023 after a blessed life of 95 years. Lisena remained  a woman of faith, sass, compassion, generosity, humor and beauty her entire life. Her love for her family, friends and her church family was undeniable and was evident throughout her lifetime.  

Lisena was known as a beautiful soul. She was born on October 24, 1927 and grew up in Drouilard-Dasney, Croix-de- Bouquets, Haiti. At the age of 18, she married the love of her life, Rameau Sylliac and together they had 10 children. In her community, she was a well-known business woman, but also found time to raise her large family. Relationships were very important to Lisena; her relationship with God, her family and her friends. Her strong relationship with her Heavenly Father was very evident in her daily life. She was a woman of prayer and of faith, and she instilled in her children the same love and faith in God that she had. Lisena  was loved and cherished by all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She easily connected with everyone with her great sense of humor no matter their age. She could always make them laugh as well as feel loved and accepted. 

Lisena will be remembered for the generous woman she was, the strength she exuded, the compassionate spirit she showed toward family and friends, as well as strangers, and her great love for God. She was never afraid to speak her mind, advocate for others and help others to the best of her ability.  She loved to laugh, cook, dance, watch her favorite TV shows and live life to the fullest. She will always be remembered by the countless many lives she touched and impacted for the better. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Rameau Sylliac; her sons, Jean-Paul Siliac, Kesnel Sylliac and Soifaite Siliac and siblings, Louvina Myrtil, Germene Myrtil, Maxilan Myrtil and Verlean Myrtil.

Lisena is survived by her children, Rigaud Sylliac (Yolette), Claircina Sylliac, Marie Rose Charles (Saint Jean), Chimene Augustin (Jean Meret), Vital Cilliac (Gertha), Claire Jackson (Lewis) and Jean Sylliac (Marie Barbara);  grandchildren, Zachary Siliac, Christella Saint-Vilus, John Siliac, Cynthia Siliac, Carlyne Carter, Jerldyn Baxley, Rigaud Sylliac Jr., Andy Siliac, Louisena Caudio, Mardoche Jean, Fritzner Jean, Kettly Louis, Jocelin Jean, Belinda Saunders, Wendy Singletary, David Charles, Marie -Ange Charles, Jocelyn Charles, Robin Charles, Jennifer Charles, Elijah Charles, Esaie Augustin, Emmanuella Augustin, Joshua Augustin, Sandy Cilliac, Rhonda Joseph, Daniel Cilliac, Whitney Sylliac, Stephanie Sylliac, Josh Sylliac, Shannan Jackson, and Shane Jackson; her sister, Ritane Myrtil and a host of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at  Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FLorida 32073. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Orange Park, 1140 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073.
