Lydia Balaoing, 84, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. She was born on July 8, 1935 in Iligan City, Philippines to the late Alejandro and Marina Bunvan.
Lydia retired after 35 years of teaching high school in Zambales, Philippines before immigrating to the United States in January 2000. She worked at the Navy Exchange Uniform Shop and retired in 2007.
She is survived by her sister, Stella Balila; three daughters, Maria Aurea and husband Edgar Serrano, Maria Teresa and husband Oberon Oca and Divina Balaoing; five grandchildren, Ed Maureen, Kin Marcelene, Adrian, Patricia and Anton; two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Yohan.
A funeral service will be held Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. and a visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073.
