Maggie Williams Obituary

Mrs. Maggie Moore Williams was born on March 23, 1936 in Jacksonville, Florida to Mr. Robert Moore and Mrs. Willie B. Moore.  She attended the public schools of Duval County and was raised with a solid spiritual foundation, accepting the Lord at an early age.

Maggie united in Holy Matrimony to Earl Williams and together they raised six beautiful children. She was a member of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church, serving for many years in the Usher and Choir ministries.

Maggie obtained her cosmetology license in 1962 and began her career at Joseph and Charles beauty salon.  She later worked as a hair stylist at both Cecil Field and NAS Jax for over fifteen years.  By the grace of God, she was blessed to open her own beauty salon, Maggie’s Beauty Boutique.  Eventually she would move locations and open two additional businesses, Mayport Road Beauty Salon, and Creations Unlimited on 103rd Street where she was a part of that community for thirty years.

Maggie had an illustrious and successful career that provided employment to so many. She served her customers well and truly believed in the motto, ‘pleasing you, pleases us.’  Her family was her pride and joy and she thanked God every day for the blessing of her children, grandchildren and extended family.  All who met her were warmed by her loving smile, gentle spirit and womanly virtue.  She was truly special to all those she touched in her community and those she so dearly loved.

On Wednesday, February 19, 2020, she departed this life for her final homegoing.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Willie B. Moore; her husband, Earl Williams; her son, Anthony Dexter Williams; brothers, Gary Moore and Robert Moore; sisters, Willie Bell Moore and Charlie Mae West.
