Margot Murphy Obituary

Margot Murphy was born and raised in Long Island, New York. She moved to Florida in 1979 and received her degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida in Gainesville. She began her career as a teacher with the Clay County School District, teaching at Lakeside Elementary and more recently at Patterson Elementary, where she taught Language Impaired students.

Margot was preceded in death by her mother and father.

She leaves behind her beloved partner, Antonio Coleman; beloved son, Darrell Rasher; her dogs, Cowboy and Rookie; her sisters, Laura Caruso and Debra Lazzaro and their spouses; her niece, Kira Burleson; nephews, Mark and Steven Lazzaro; first cousins, Peter and Mary Caruso and Charles and William Lorenz; her former spouse and longtime friend, Chris Murphy, as well as many, many friends and grateful students and parents.

 

Margot will be greatly missed.

 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073.
