Mark Steven Lynn, Sr.

Mark Steven Lynn, Sr. was born on January 15, 1956, to late Waylon and Naomi Lynn in Detroit, Michigan. He was educated in local schools in Detroit and Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating from High School, Mark joined the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War era. Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business, Magna Cum Laude, from Florida Southern College.

On December 29, 1979, he united in holy matrimony to Carolyn Delores Williams.

Mark had a storied career spanning the public and private sectors. He worked his way from a sales representative to a regional director at the Florida Lottery. He also worked at Citibank for twenty years as a Financial Manager. Mark also served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Clara White Mission and the Public Relations Director of the TNBA Gator City Senate.

Mark was a devoted husband and father that loved reading, fishing, bowling, and entertaining with family and friends at home with his wife Carolyn. On Sunday, August 6, 2023, Mark made his transition from labor to reward.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Waylon and Naomi Lynn; brother, Waylan Lynn; sister, Mary Carol Lynn, and his loving mother-in-law, Maggie Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife of forty-three years, Carolyn Lynn; children, Veronica (James) Fries, Mark Lynn Jr., Anthony (Britni) Lynn; grandchildren, Shawn Fries, Jordan Fries, and Anthony Lynn Jr.; brothers, Tommy (Erma) Lynn, Fred (Marcia) Lynn (Mark’s identical twin); brothers-in-law, Ronald (Cathy) Barther, Larry (Donna) Barther, Adrian (Rosalind) Williams; sister-in-law, Cassandra Williams, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
