Marlene Vosburg Pourciau

There was another angel around the throne on July 5, 2023 when our sweet mother Marlene Marie Vosburg Pourciau passed away surrounded by family. 

Marlene was 77, born and raised in Morganza, LA and a resident of the New Roads area until 1986 when the family moved to Florida. In 1997, she and her husband moved to Dahlonega, GA where they built their dream cabin in the mountains.  When Marlene wasn’t a stay at home mom, she was an examiner at the Florida and Georgia divisions of drivers license. 

Marlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and one of the best sisters, aunts, and friends.  She was loved so much by so many and always had a smile on her face.  She loved Jesus and her family with all her heart, and above all treasured the times spent together. 

Marlene was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years Lawrence “Larry” Pourciau of Morganza; her infant son, Colby; parents, Edgar and Louisette Vosburg; siblings, Stephen Vosburg, Donald Vosburg, Riley Vosburg, Shirley Vosburg, Hilda Kemp, and Jane Landry.  Marlene is survived by her four children Shannon (Tom) Pourciau (Orange Park, FL), Dara (Chris) Ray (Yulee, FL), Bill Pourciau (Callahan, FL), and Joanna (Alan) Kumm (Green Cove Springs, FL); five grandchildren, Joshua and Sydney Gorsuch, Lawrence Joseph "LJ" Pourciau, and Bailee and Jordan Kumm; siblings Nelton (Gerri)Vosburg, Billy Horton, and Glenda Ginn; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.  at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 192 Church St., Morganza, LA 70759.
