Mary Frances Shafter-King, 71, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born on March 1, 1954, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Walter Shafter, Sr., and Frances Prince Shafter.

Family members preceding Mary in death are her parents; daughter, Latrell Maria Franklin; sisters, Faith Shafter, Robin Shafter-German, Alice Shafter-Langley, Iris Godwin, and brother, Frederick Godwin.

Mary is survived by her children, Andrea Shafter, Tahmoy Shafter (Kianna) and Toni Lake (Joshua); nine grandchildren, Bria White, Brittani Parsons, Kayla Thomas, Kimora Shafter, Kasey Taylor, Joi Taylor, Lauryn Lake, Skylar Lake, Joshua Lake, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Saige Parsons, Serenity Higgins and Onyx Parsons; brothers, Walter Shafter Jr. (Gail) and David Shafter (Pauline); sisters, Julianne Campbell (Earl), Sweety Elaine Denegal (Matthew), Janice Copeland, Debbie Shafter, Tammy Salett (Ulysses) and April Shafter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025, 5:00 p.m., at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL  32073, (904) 264-1233.
