Mary Ann Witczak Obituary

Mary Ann Florence Witczak, 82, passed away on January 27, 2024 in Fleming Island, FL. She was born on May 18, 1941 in Chicago, IL, to the late Joseph John Rawski and Florence Nell (Maciejewski) Rawski.

Mary Ann was a 1960 graduate from Harrison High School in Chicago. She went on to Wright Jr. College, then to Cook County School of Nursing where in June 1961, she received her license as a Practical Nurse.  She worked at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and Resthaven Nursing Home in York, PA.

She enjoyed traveling (cruising), collecting antique furniture, quilting and thrift store shopping. Mary Ann was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fleming Island, FL and St. Michaels Catholic Church in Palmer, AK. She was a Red Cross Volunteer with the U.S. Forces Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Timothy Michael Witczak; brother, Jerome Rawski; nephew, Daniel Rawski and grandparents, Edward and Nellie (Gall) Maciejewski.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Chester W. Witczak; sons, Christopher James Witczak (Michelle) and Chester Joseph WitczaK (Danielle) and daughter in-law, Kim Witczak; grandchildren, Abigail Witczak, Hannah Witczak, Ivy Witczak, Ziven Witczak, Oles Witczak, Chester Tait Witczak, Tola Witczak, Zoja Witczak and Maciek Witczak; nephew, Michael Kamka; nieces, Lori (Kamka) Rozdolsky, Kimberly Kamka, Susan Rawski Pacelli and Geri Ann Rawski Brent; cousin, Marcy Gall Leverenz; special friends, Rose Di Natale, Patricia Scherrer, Barb Hackenberg, Myrtle Schultz, Carole Kos and Sandy Massaro and a host of other family members and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233.

At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Safe Animal Shelter, 2913 County Road 2220, Middleburg, FL 32068 or to Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd. Staten Island, NY 10306, or to a charity of your choice in Mary Ann’s memory.
