Michael McGann Obituary

Michael Norman McGann went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 22, 2021.  He was born on May 20, 1944 in Boston MA.  Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Foley and his step father Benjamin “Pacey” Panansky.  He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Shelley.

Michael served our country proudly in the United States Navy and United States Navy Reserve for 27 years.  While serving his country, Michael also continued his education and received an MBA in Aviation from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 1989 and served as an assistant professor there for several years.

He had a passion for cars from an early age.  Michael did auto body work for many years and owned his own body shop.  Later in life, he restored antique and classic cars as well as owning some himself.

Michael served the Lord faithfully as an AWANA leader and a greeter in his church for 10 years.  After retirement, he also volunteered in the food pantry of the Clothes Closet which helps people in need.

He also enjoyed dancing and was a long time member of several local dance clubs: Jacksonville Beach Bop Association, The Florida Boppers and the Moose Lodge 2020.

Michael never met a stranger.  He loved people and enjoyed talking to them and making them smile.  He will be missed by all who knew him.
