Michele Harrell Ragin, a woman of unwavering faith, strength, and love, was born on August 10, 1974, in La Vista, Nebraska. She peacefully transitioned from this life on April 22, 2026, in Middleburg, Florida, leaving behind a legacy that will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She was the cherished daughter of the late Reverend William P. Harrell and Julia Ann Huntley Harrell. Michele’s life was rooted in faith, family, and service. She graduated from Evergreen Christian School in Warner Robins, Georgia, and went on to earn her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Central Georgia Technical College—an accomplishment that reflected her deep love for nurturing and guiding young minds.
Michele’s walk with Christ was evident in the way she lived and served. She faithfully served at Zachariah Baptist Church as a devoted deaconess and choir director, and later at Second Baptist Church, where she poured her heart into teaching preschool children. Michele embodied the spirit of a Proverbs 31 woman—strong, compassionate, and deeply committed to her faith and her family.
In 1999, Michele met the love of her life, Tim Ragin. Their journey together began with friendship, blossomed into love in 2001, and was sealed in marriage on April 13, 2002. For 24 beautiful years, they built a life centered on love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to one another.
Michele was a proud and loving mother to four children: A’Keara D. Ragin, Timothy T. Ragin Jr., William T. Ragin, and Janceia S. Ragin, whom she embraced as her own. Her love only grew deeper with the arrival of her precious granddaughter, Sarae’ivree Kamiy Ragin, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters: Judy L. Harrell, Lori (Gary) Rose, Deloris (Chris) Mercer, and Nicole Harrell; her nephews: Huntley Harrell, DeAndre McKenzie, Michael Rose, and Kashmere McKenzie; and her nieces: Lydia Mercer, Tanazia Lee, and Tamiya Jackson. She is also survived by her loving in-laws, Charles and Linda Davis; her sisters-in-law, Alvina Jackson and Sekaitha Denise Davis; her brothers-in-law: Alvin McKenzie Jr., Atlas McKenzie, Gary Rose, Dawain Jackson and Chris Mercer. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved brother-in-law, Andre Bryant.
Michele also shared a special, unbreakable bond with her longtime best friend, Lisla Hutcherson, whose friendship stood the test of time.
Michele found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She loved tending to her plants, caring for her dogs, and spending quality time with family—especially during lively card games filled with laughter. She expressed herself boldly and unapologetically, embracing her love for nails, tattoos, and piercings as reflections of her vibrant spirit.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Michele’s life was a testament to love, faith, and strength. She fought with grace, loved without limits, and gave of herself endlessly. Her presence was a gift, her memory a treasure. Michele Harrell Ragin was more than a wife, mother, sister, and friend—she was a light. And though that light may no longer shine here with us, it will forever illuminate the lives she touched.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to those who cared for Michele during her journey, including her neighbors Robert and Beth, the compassionate staff at Baptist Clay Medical Center and Lab Crew, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Marand Builders, and Haven Hospice. Your care, kindness, and support will never be forgotten.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
