Mr. Amando David and Mrs. Carmelita David

Mrs. Carmelita R. David, 78, passed away December 10, 2019 in Corpus Christi, TX. She was born on September 27, 1941 in Carino, Paniqui, Tarlac, Philippines. Her passing was shortly followed by the passing of her husband, Mr. Amando O. David on April 2, 2020 in Fleming Island, FL. Mr. David, 91, was born on April 8, 1928 in Paniqui, Philippines.
Before moving to the U.S., Mrs. David worked as a midwife in the Philippines. She worked for Johnson and Johnson in Jacksonville for over 20 years. She was a loving mom, grandma, sister and wife. Mr. David retired from the U.S. Navy as a Seabee. His Navy service included the Guantanamo Bay Cuban Missile Crisis and two tours in Vietnam. Mr. David was stationed in San Diago, CA; Davisville, RI; Port Hueneme, CA; Spain; Okinawa; and Ramey Air Force Base, Puerto Rico. After retiring from active duty, he continued to work the Navy and Army with the Department of Defense, where he received many job certifications. He was a beloved father, grandfather, husband and brother.
Mrs. and Mr. David were members of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Orange Park, FL. They enjoyed traveling together to visit family, especially their grandchildren.
Mrs. Carmelita David was preceded in death by her parents, Fidel Ramil and Marcelina Tamayo Ramil and her brothers, Arturo Ramil and Efren Ramil. Mr. Amando David was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Carmelita David; his parents, Benigno David and Victoriana David; his brothers, Victor David, Alfredo David, Juan David, Crispiniano and Marcario David.
Mr. and Mrs. David are survived by their loving children, Bella Tompkins and Amando R. David; grandchildren, Jonathan M. David and Daniel L. David.
Survivors from Mrs. David’s family include brother, Romeo Ramil; sisters, Myrna R. Bautista, Lourdes R. Distor and Elsie R. Gartner; nephews, Louie R. Bautista, Albert Ramil, Jayson Distor, Herrenvolk Ramil and Omar Ramil; nieces, Lani R. Vista, Allen R. Espiritu; Beth R. Pansoy, Joan B. Johnson, Jennifer D. Orallo; Juneth D. Marshal, Eileen A. Gaeta, Irene A. Servino and Eleanor A. Jordan. Mr. David’s family survivors include nephews, Jesus L. David (Rosa) and Carlos L. David (single); and niece, Letty David (single). Mr. and Mrs. David are also survived by their friends, Prichard Ortiz and Dana Ortiz and Vinh Le and his family.
Mr. and Mrs. Amando and Carmelita David will be intered together on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego, CA 92122.
