A Life Well Lived
With hearts filled with love and gratitude, we celebrate the beautiful life of Neva Saunders, who peacefully entered eternal rest on July 3, 2026, at the age of 75.
Born on July 12, 1950, in Montezuma, Georgia, Neva was the beloved daughter of Oscar Solomon and Pearl (Williams) Solomon, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also welcomed into Heaven by her brother, Robert L. Killings, and her sisters, Leila Cobb (Milton) and Rosa Lee Wright (Maurice).
Neva was raised in a loving family and graduated from high school in Macon County, Georgia. She later attended Macon College.
A Beautiful Love Story
While working at General Railway Signal in Rochester, New York, Neva worked in the office while Robert L. Saunders worked in the machinery department. Their friendship blossomed into a lifelong love story. On March 28, 1981, they were united in marriage.
Together they shared over 45 wonderful years of marriage built on faith, friendship, love, and commitment. In 1989, they relocated to the Jacksonville/Middleburg area of Florida, where they continued building a life rooted in faith, family, and service.
A Heart for Children
For 37 years, Neva faithfully cared for and taught young children at Island View Day Care Center, now known as The Springs Church. Parents often requested Mrs. Neva's classroom because of her patience, nurturing spirit, and ability to make every child feel loved.
Although Neva had no biological children, she possessed the heart of a mother. She became a mother figure to countless children and deeply loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.
A Woman of Faith
