Nick Prochelo Obituary

Nick Leo Prochelo, born September 30, 1964, died after a lengthy illness on March 22, 2024, at Middleburg Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Middleburg, FL. Nick was born in Stockton, CA, to Leo F. and Rosemary Prochelo, and raised in South Sioux City, NE, by his mother.

He graduated from South Sioux City Senior High in 1983, joined the Army National guard and attended Western Iowa Tech. An avid outdoorsman, Nick spent his time with his friends, his favorite companions – Ned and Bear (black labs), camping, boating and hunting. He also enjoyed fishing, lobster diving and scuba diving. Motorcycles were a passion of his and he enjoyed riding through the winding hills and mountains of Northern Nevada and California. His love of music would always be present on any adventure, and the stories he would tell of his adventures were priceless.

“Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition leaving all these opportunities behind. Feed my will to feel this moment urging me to cross the line. Reaching out to embrace the random. Reaching out to embrace whatever may come.” (Lateralus, Song by TOOL)

Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Leo F. Prochelo and Rosemary Prochelo as well as his half-brothers, Joe and David Sivill and his half-sister, Felicia Villani.

He is survived by his twin sister, Rosemarie Prochelo; half-brothers, Tom Sivill and Vincent Prochelo; nieces, Cristina Woolley and Nicole Prochelo; nephew, Nicolas Prochelo; stepmother, Barbara Prochelo; stepbrother, Douglas Zickefoose; and stepsisters, Bonnie Zickefoose James and Debbie Mavity, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Nick, you will be missed, remembered, and always be in our hearts. Rest in peace, my brother.
