Peter Anthony Rizzi, Jr., 71, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 in Orange Park, Florida. He was born on August 19, 1950 in New York, New York to the late Peter A. Rizzi, Sr. and Helen Bates Rizzi.
Peter was a proud retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief. He enjoyed fishing, was a comedian and jokester, and he loved to make others laugh. Peter’s favorite past time was harassing his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Potawsky Rizzi; sister-in-law, Kathy Rizzi and brother-in-law, Fred Larsen.
Peter is survived by his loving family, wife, Alita Q. Rizzi; son and daughter, Peter A. Rizzi, III and Dr. Tanya (Daniel) Scherr; step-sons, Michael (Alicia) Shanks and Ian Shanks; step-daughter, Alyssa Shanks; grandchildren, Tyler Scherr, Nicholas Scherr, Caitlyn Scherr, Heather Scherr, Paige Scherr, Darien Rizzi, Adalynn Shanks, Zariah Shanks and Avelina Shanks; brothers, Robert Rizzi, Paul Rizzi and Mike Rizzi; sisters, Lorraine Larsen and Pam Rizzi as well as other family members and friends.

A viewing will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073.
A graveside service with military honors for Mr. Rizzi, Jr. will be held Friday, January 21, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218, please arrive to cemetery at 11;15 a.m.
