With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Lee Cribbs of Orange Park, FL, who left this world on March 30, 2025. Richard was a man who embraced life with passion, finding joy in motorcycles, hot rods, having fun, and most importantly, spending time with his family. His love and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born on November 26, 1964, in Jacksonville FL, to Emory Isom Cribbs and Paul Joette Guy, stepfather George Crews, all of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his siblings Paul Crews (April), Donna Crews, Darren Cribbs (Melissa), Deborah Cribbs Willis (Dan), and Stephanie Johnson (Dennis).
In 2008, he married Missy, the love of his life who stood by him through the good, the bad, and the ugly. Richard often said that Missy was a strong ass woman to put up with his bullshit, but he knew she was always there, rock solid and dependable. Together they built a life full of love and cherished memories. Richard was a devoted father to Kyle, Tiffany, Joshua (who preceded him in 2017), Timothy, Brandy, and Hailey. His legacy continues through his seven beloved grandchildren, who will forever carry his spirit with them.
Richard had over 40 years of experience in the underground utility industry. He was the proud co-owner of a company he built with his longtime friend Donald Knight. Richard was deeply passionate about his work and committed to not only providing excellent service but also giving people second chances at a better life. His employees were more than just coworkers to him – they were family. Richard cared deeply about the people he worked with, always offering guidance and opportunities to those in need of a fresh start. His impact on his employees and the community will be remembered with respect and gratitude.
Richard’s presence was felt by all who crossed his path, willingly or not. His infectious smile and larger than life personality lit up every room he entered. He had an adventurous spirit, and his unwavering love for his family, friends, and brotherhood will live on in the stories shared and the lives he touched.
A service to honor and celebrate Richard’s life will be held on April 5, 2025, at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Ave, Orange Park, FL. The viewing will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by the service at 10:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to attend and remember the incredible man he was. Following the service, the family will host a private event for immediate family members. Details regarding The Last Ride, will be announced at a later time.
Rest in peace, Richard “Redneck” Cribbs, gone but never forgotten. A true legend.
