Richard L. McGuffie, II was born on September 16, 1992 in San Diego, California to Richard and Cheryl Wright McGuffie.
Richard attended Florida State College Jacksonville and worked as a professional painter and was the lead supervisor and foreman of the family's painting business, Helping Hands (Painting). He was a member of Shiloh Church Orange Park. Richard enjoyed sports especially football and basketball. He was always voted MVP of his sport teams while growing up overseas in Guam and Hawaii. After the family relocated to Jacksonville (Orange Park area), Richard continued to play Pop Warner football and basketball.
Richard is survived by his parents; sister, Amanda Wright-Fielder, brother, Richard McGuffie, Jr.; grandmother, Ilois Wright-Webster; aunts, Amanda Townsend (Willie) and Daphne Settles (Rod) all of Wetumpka, Alabama, Patricia Eldridge of Montgomery, Alabama, Marie McGuffie, Susie Davis, Rene Watford and Martha McGuffie all of Sawyerville, Alabama and Marilyn Palmore (Charles) of Eclectic, and Dorothy Banks of Detroit, Michigan; uncles, James McGuffie (Stephanie) of Denver, Colorado, Steven, Joseph (Vivian), and Vincent, Brian (Clara) Wright all of Wetumpka and Raymond McGuffie of Sawyerville, Alabama; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
On December 1, 2021, God called Richard to rest.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529, Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Shiloh Church Orange Park, 939 Blanding Boulevard, Orange Park, Florida 32065.
