Rosa Yarbrough Obituary

Rosa Harris Yarbrough passed away on March 16, 2025 in Orange Park, FL. She was born on October 20, 1949 in Bertie County, NC. She born to the late William Edward Thompson and Rozella Thompson, and raised by the late Murmon C. Harris and Fannie M. Faison Harris

Rosa earned a Bachelor's Degree from Norfolk State University. She worked for the Norfolk and Clay County Public Schools as a teacher for over 30 years. Rosa was a member of Hopewell Church in Jacksonville, FL. and was involved in the Life Group and Deaconess Ministries. She enjoyed traveling and being with her family.

Family members preceding Rosa in death were her parents; brother, John Thompson; sisters, Colteen Harris and Cathy Thompson and grandparents, John David Thompson and Blanche Thompson.

Rosa is survived by her loving husband, Eddie R. Yarbrough; son, Dr. Allen Yarbrough; brothers, Willie Thompson, Algustus Thompson and David Thompson; sisters, Evelyn Harris, Sandra Lake and Essie Thompson and a host of other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073, (904)-264-1233. The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Hopewell Church, 3990 Loretto Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32223. Interment Service will be on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.
