Sherri Lynn Bankston

Sherri Lynn Bankston, 62, of Fleming Island, died unexpectedly on July 5, 2026.  Sherri was born on June 10, 1964, to Lynn and Brenda Bankston.  She and her family traveled the world with her father’s career and after attending Southeastern Louisiana University, she moved to Florida to be closer to her parents and the love of her life.  She spent a majority of her career in law enforcement helping victims of abuse and later got involved in real estate and construction.  Having traveled her entire childhood, she relished living in the same area for 40 plus years.

Sherri is preceded in death by her parents, Lynn and Brenda Bankston, brother Kevin Bankston; all of Orange Park.  Aunt Phala and Uncle Earl Spears, Uncle Ed and Aunt Penny Doss, cousin Carla Doss and Sherri’s ex-husband, Greg Wilson, the love of her life for 27 years.

She is survived by her son, her pride and joy, Aaron Wilson, of Tampa.  His girlfriend Holly Jensen and her Grand-dog Oppy.  Uncles Kenny Bankston (Cheryl), Hugh Doss (Kaye), and Terry Doss (Barbara).  Cousins Shandle Waskom, Steven Spears, Lesli Strong, David Doss, Scott Doss, Trisha Doss, Keith Thompson, Donna Doss, and Jonolyn Ferreri (and their families).  And many very special friends that were like family. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 11:00 am at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Ave. Orange Park, FL 32073.
