Stephen “Rocky” Fishbein passed away on October 11, 2020 in Jacksonville, FL. He was the son of Stephen and Ana Fishbein, born on August 2, 1986 in Honolulu, HI, while his dad was stationed there serving in the U.S. Navy.
Rocky was a graduate of Orange Park High School in Orange Park, FL. He was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Orange Park and St. Edwards Catholic Church NAS Jacksonville. He worked at Rocky’s Flooring and enjoyed boating, woodworking and football and he was passionate about fishing and his pups, Lucky and Peaches.
Rocky was loved by his family and many friends. His mother, Ana, doted on him and instilled in him kindness and love for people. Rocky loved his family and was protective of his sisters, Kat and Sam. His passion for fishing grew from his dad teaching him to fish at age 2 and in return, Rocky taught his son, Gabriel, to fish at an early age. Rocky was charming and loved everyone he met, from his teachers, to coaches and co-workers, to strangers who later became friends. Those lucky enough to meet him were treated with kindness, charm, quick wit, intelligence and sharp humor. Rocky was a fierce trivia player and could quote movie lines and what he called “very important information.”
Although Rocky is now basking in the love of God and the eternal life, he will be profoundly missed here on Earth by his family and friends.
Rocky was preceded in death by his grandparents, Peter S. and Miriam C. Fishbein and great-grandmother, Maria Dalit Laguatan.
He is survived by son, Gabriel A. Fishbein; his parents, Stephen and Ana Fishbein; sisters, Sammie Fishbein and Kathleen Fishbein Marshall; brother-in-law, Eric Marshall; uncle, Pete Fishbein; aunts, Jane Behrens and Virginia Smith; former wife, Mary Ann Nelson Medina, and many friends.
