Steven Horatio Hopkins was educated in the Duval and Clay County School system. He started his career in the tire industry, following in his grandfather’s footsteps. During the course of his life, he worked in other industries including Penske trucking and Belle Piscines, Inc. with his dear friend and boss Bill Bass.
Steven accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and lived a life of supporting and helping others as much as he could. He enjoyed being with his boys – Shawn, Dre, Tim, Xavier, Bean, Vic, and Clyde. When time permitted Steven enjoyed fishing (another pastime he spent with his grandfather) and motorcycle riding.
Steven was preceded in death by his loving maternal grandparents who he spent many awesome days of his childhood with: the late Edward and Merdina Hopkins.
Steven developed many rich and loving relationships that he leaves behind to celebrate and cherish his memory; his parents, Helen and Larry Lewis; a beloved sister, Dr. Kelly Lewis, five children: Diamond, Destiny, and Steven, Devron, Amari; and granddaughter De’Lani. Steven had many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends that will sorely miss him, his sense of humor, and his smile.
