Theodore Brown, 88, passed away on March 30, 2026 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born on August 6, 1937 in Jacksonville, FL, to the late Seymore Brown and Catherine Smith.
Theodore was a 1957 graduate of Matthew W. Gilbert High School in Jacksonville and worked as a Longshoreman for 61 years. He received his Florida Labor School Certificate of Merit for AFL-CIO. He was a lifelong member of ILA local #1408. Theodore was also a member of local Limelighter’s Social Club.
Family members preceding Theodore in death were his parents; sister, Betty Brown; and brother, Nathaniel Brown.
Theodore is survived by his loving wife, Mary Brown; children, Sheila Malcolm (Melvin), Morris Brown (Dorothy), and Shirley Brown Terrell (Janice); grandchildren, Michael Brown-Massaline, Tylan Malcolm, Darrian Malcolm (Karen), Taylor Woodie (Langston) and Chandler Brown; great-grandchildren, Jordan Robinson, Amari Massaline, Aiden Woodie and Zion Woodie; in-laws, Francina Hicks and Alfreda Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a Celebration of Life service on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233.
