Thomas Charles Davis, Sr. passed on November 10, 2021 in Green Cove Springs, FL. He was born on May 11, 1942 in Jacksonville, FL, to the late Ernest T. Davis and Agnes Lockhart Davis.
Thomas held a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Mathematics and various environmental licenses. He worked for Seaboard Coastline Railroad and retired from Anheuser Busch.
Thomas began learning to play the piano in 2014 and became an accomplished pianist at Keyboard Connections, renewing a childhood interest. He loved boating, primarily sailing, and participating in the Mug Race several times. He enjoyed home renovation and restoration, spending time with his grandson Caileb and the beach. Thomas also valued time spent at the Piano Club with his friends. He loved time with his family, being the gracious host, cooking and carving the delicious turkey, while family members provided the fixin’s. He was a jokester and liked to make people laugh.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and son, Thomas Charles Davis, Jr.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Janice Lynn Davis; grandson, Caileb Tyme Perry; sisters, Nancy J. Davis, Pat A. Woolery and Helen A. Peele; uncle, Charles (Sonny) Lockhart; many cousins, nieces and nephews; friends Debbie and Allen Powers and Ruth Ann Laye.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073.
