William Wilson Obituary

William David Wilson passed away on October 21, 2022.  David was born to Ernest D. and Nancy R. Wilson on November 15, 1957 in Charleston, West Virginia.

Those who knew David knew him as kindhearted, decent, thoughtful, sincere, and sweet.  David could be counted on to be a rock, a refuge, a tower of strength in any circumstance.  When David spoke you knew you were getting straight-forward, sound, reasonable, and wise words.  In any storm, literal or figurative, David was cool-headed and unflappable.

David had a lifelong passion for Horticulture and filled his life and home with beautiful flowers and plants.  As a kid who shared a room with his younger brother, David would crowd “his half” of the room with enough plants that his younger brother complained that he had to live in a forest!  As an adult, his passion for plants continued.  When he relocated his home a few years ago he made one trip to move his furniture and two trips to move his plants!

Those who knew David enjoyed his fun sense of humor and his loud, spontaneous laugh.  David found humor and amusement in the silliness of human behavior.  David had diverse music tastes.  From opera to Latin to R&B, David had a love for music and extensive knowledge about the artists.

David was employed by Parallon most recently as Director of Outpatient Services for the past 20+ years. He was both respected and admired by his colleagues.  David served as a mentor to his employees and started many managers and company leaders on their successful career paths.  Many even looked at David as a second father because of his support and desire to see them succeed.

David is preceded in death by both parents, his son, Bryan David Wilson, and his brother, Michael A. Wilson.

Left behind to cherish his sweet memory is his beloved daughter, Laurie Wilson Petry (Chris); daughters-in-law, Kelly Wilson-Pellino, and Tara Terry; his adored grandchildren, Katherine Petry(Katie bug) and Kyler Wilson(Ky); his longtime companion, Dona Parker; siblings, Clifton M. Wilson (Kim) of Ohio, Karen L. Oberlander (Gregg) of South Carolina, Jeff S. Wilson of Ohio, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
