Yolanda Sirmones Obituary

Yolanda Carissia Sirmones was born on June 23, 1954, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Albert Horace Trice Sr. and Yvonne P. George.  She received her education through the Duval County Public School System and was a proud member of the first desegregated graduating class of Edward H. White High School.

In 1972, Yolanda was united in holy matrimony to James Elijah Sirmones Jr. Their loving union of 52 years was blessed with three children. Together, they built a life grounded in love, family, and faith — a bond that remained strong through every season.

Yolanda began her career with the Duval County Clerk’s Office in 1988, where she served faithfully until her retirement in 2019 — a role she took great pride in. Throughout her years of service, she formed deep and lasting friendships — each relationship she nurtured held special meaning and enriched her life in countless ways.

Yolanda devoted much of her life to serving others through both her career and her ministry. She faithfully worked with Builders Care, where she found great purpose in helping those in need and rebuilding hope within her community. Her passion for outreach extended far beyond her workplace—she was an active and compassionate member of the Outreach Ministry, always lending a helping hand to those facing hardship. Yolanda also served faithfully in the Prison Ministry, sharing messages of faith with those seeking a second chance. Through every act of service, she exemplified God’s love, touching countless lives with her unwavering spirit, leaving a lasting impact on all who were blessed to know her.

Yalanda was preceded in death by her devoted grandmother, Elease George — the gentle soul who raised her with grace, strength, and love.

She leaves to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy her devoted husband, James Elijah Sirmones Sr.; her loving children, James Elijah Sirmones III (Sara), LaShonda Latrise Parsons (Alphonso), and Xavier T. Sirmones; her cherished grandchildren, Khaleel Kellogg, Keennan Sirmones, Lesley Kellogg, Gabriela Sirmones, Korey Kellogg, Emelia Sirmones, Olivia Yolanda Sirmones, and Samara Sirmones; and her beloved great-grandchildren, MiKenzie Kellogg, Dante Cloutier, and Keion Kellogg. She is also survived by four brothers, two sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Yolanda’s love for her family was the heartbeat of her life. Her presence filled every room with warmth, laughter, and grace. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the lessons she taught, the love she shared, and the example she set will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
