Yvonne Viola (Simmons) Harvey

Yvonne Viola Harvey, 88, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great- great - grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2024 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on April 20,1936 in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, to the late George and Elaine (Wilson) Simmons.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Tyrell Harvey; brother, Frank Simmons; sister, Noreen Simmons Douglas; daughter, Joy Harvey; stepsons, Nimrod Harvey, and Alfred Sinclair Joseph; granddaughter, Brittney Scott and great-great grandson, Kenzo Quashie.

She is survived by her loving children, Joan Harvey-Wilson (Phil), Valerie Wilson, Cheryl Pollard (Michael), Greta Denyse Scott (Murphy) and Dawn Quashie; beloved  mother figure to Maria Butler (Ken); stepmother, to Sandra Harvey-Bain (Franklyn) and Godwin Harvey

Grandsons, Teroy Wilson, Kyle Quashie, Stephen Scott, Mathew Scott, Kemron Butler, Franklyn Bain Jr, Nigel Joseph, Winston Harvey, Winfield Harvey and Shem Harvey

Yvonne was an exemplary mother and grandmother to Laureen Wilson, Chermaine Stewart, Paula Exeter, Jolecia Bartholomew, Genecia Thomas, and Jovel Thomas. We will always remember her for the unconditional love, strength, and generosity she gave to all.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. and  her Celebration of Life will start  11:00 a.m., both services are at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL  3207, (904) 264-1233.
