John R. McLemore passed away on April 16, 2017, in Orange Park, FL. He was born on May 28, 1943, in Fountain Green, MD to the late Raymond Paul McLemore and Mildred Cooney.

He graduated from Parkville High School in Maryland. John had the honor of designing the current Baltimore County flag. He served with the U.S. Army 7th Infantry Division from 1968-1970 and worked as a train dispatcher for B&O and CSX railroads. He belonged to the American Legion Post 130.

He enjoyed railroad and U.S. history, reading, watching old black and white films and loved classical music.

John was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Paul Raymond McLemore and Emma Cooney.

To cherish John’s memory are wife, Pong Sun McLemore; children, Wayne B. and Kathleen A. McLemore; brother, Dennis McLemore and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233.
