Margaret B. Partridge

December 9, 1929 ~ February 11, 2017 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Margaret Black Partridge, 87, born December 9, 1929, in Jacksonville to George Seaborn Black, III and Adelaide Pfeiffer Black, passed away peacefully February 11, 2017 with family at her side. Margaret was a vice president at Partridge Well Drilling for 55 years until retiring in 2005.  She was instrumental in the growth of the family business and during that time served on numerous civic associations.  She was a long time member of Orange Park United Methodist Church where she served on the Altar Guild for many years.  Her hobbies included gardening, cooking and entertaining.  She was an avid traveler, having visited numerus countries and particularly enjoyed her camping trips in the western United States.  She thought every birthday was meant to celebrated with a family dinner and a home baked cake. She enjoyed playing bridge almost every Wednesday for over 55 years. Margaret loved her family and enjoyed time spent laughing, eating, and celebrating life with both her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Diane Partridge Soha (Howard), Linda Partridge Alderson (Nick), and Donal “Pat” Merritt Partridge, Jr. (Lorrie).  Her grandchildren, Nicholas Ryan Alderson (Lauren), Ellen Alderson Weaver (Patrick), Donal “Merritt” Partridge, III (Kasey), Lance Moyer Partridge (Alexandra) and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by a step granddaughter and two step great grandchildren. We would like to thank Willar Spencer and her staff at Allegro for their care over these last 6+ years. Also to her very special friends, Mary and Carol, thanks for always being there for her.

A Memorial service will be held Friday, February 17, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at Orange Park United Methodist Church, 2051 Park Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, with Reverend Dr. Charles Lever officiating.
